Float Trips
Waders are on, fly rods are rigged, lunch is on ice. We take our last sips of morning coffee before the trailer is parked and the day sets in. An unexplainable combination of relaxation and excitement fills your soul as we push off from the river bank and slip into a weightless drift down stream. All you hear is the sound of song birds and the rippling river as you pull fly line from your reel in preparation for that next cast. Whether it's a gentle sip of a dry fly on the surface or an aggressive pull of a streamer eat, reels will scream and smiles will be uncontrollable. This is the story of a day in a drift boat.
You'll spend your time on the river in a Hyde Pro Series XL Low Profile drift boat. It has comfortable padded seats, level casting floors, and leg locks to make your day on the water as comfortable and relaxing as possible. It also has a Yeti 45 Cooler which will have ice provided for you. Lunches, snacks, and beverages are provided for full day float trips. Anglers are welcome to BYOB.
What is provided?
Waders and wading boots (optional for warm days)
Balanced rods and reels (and/or conventional tackle for non fly fishermen)
Leaders, tippet, flies, and all other tackle
Full day trips include a lunch, snacks, and beverages, I will take your lunch order before the trip
What should Anglers bring?
PA fishing license with trout stamp click here to purchase online
Billed hat
Polarized sunglasses
Sunblock and/or bug spray
Snacks/drink for half day trips
Rain jacket (you never know)
On cooler days I recommend packing a full change of clothing as well as some layering options
Waders and Boots:
Boots and waders are provided for each trip if needed. I recommend wearing them on colder days while getting in and out of the boat but they are not required. If you're wearing your own boots with metal studs, don't worry, I have rubber floor mats in the boat! You will be able to fish the entire trip from the boat however there are areas to get out and wade fish if you wanted to. It's best to pack them and make a decision at the river.
Rods:
All fishing gear is provided but if you would like to fish with your own rod you’re more than welcome to do so. I recommend a 5 or 6 weight rod with properly weighted reel and line to match. If you need equipment for the trip we can provide a balanced rod and reel for each angler.
How does the shuttle work?
We will meet at the take out point of the river and get in the guides vehicle to head upriver. There will be a shuttle driver riding in the truck with us to shuttle the trailer back down to the take out point.
